However, Monbiot mistakenly puts the starting point for dispensationalism/futurism in the 1800s rather than being the original Jesuit line from Francisco Ribera's 1500s, in order to counter Luther's view of the 'anti-christ', the papacy.

This 'anti-christ' would require a Third Temple, and PBS's article along with globalsecurity's weblinks show how using this plays into Bush's hands...
