| 12. Tenet got the medal for career service.... |

...he was a long-term 25-year CIA employee going back to his days immediately following grad school. Tenet was appointed by Clinton, but he was very well thought of by people from all political persuasions.
Tenet was the fall-guy for the Iraq WMD nonsense. He got tagged with it when Woodward wrote in his book that Tenet told Herr Busch that evidence of WMDs in Iraq was a "slam-dunk". But, the only sources Woodward could have used for that alleged quote were the NeoCons that were in that meeting at Crawford referenced by Woodward.
Tenet had also pissed off the NeoCons when he demanded that the Department of Justice begin a criminal investigation into the outing of Valerie Plame and her entire global, WMD-tracking network.
Woodward seems to always create quotes that cast the CIA in a bad light...like his quote from an unconscious and dying Casey taking responsibility for Iran-Contra, and now an unverified quote from Tenet on Iraqi WMDs. That's because he's a former Naval Officer, an operative of the Office of Naval Intelligence, and a member of a secret society at Yale. Does that sound like any other people that we know?
