Some days are harder than others.

Tomorrow (Wednesday), my Dad will move to the nursing home. He requires more care than they can give him, and put him on a "wait list" last Friday. I asked if there were any private rooms available, and was told they were VERY hard to get, and it would probably take a very long time. Yesterday, I was told a) a room was available and b) it was a private room. So I went to see it... would you believe it is right next door to the room my mother had on the third floor? I swear I could hear my mom laughing in delight.

This is all moving so fast, but because all the doors opened quickly, it feels like the right thing to do. So, I'll be back sometime in the future - for the next several days, I'll probably be hanging out with dad, helping him to adjust, and assuring him that everything's OK. If you're so inclined, please pray or light a candle or whatever that this all goes smoothly.

And, most of all, thanks for being my friends. I love you all dearly!

Ruth

PS - A local young soldier from here (class of 2007) was killed in Afghanistan yesterday. The town is in grief, too.
