3. Google is actually a BLUE company.
From buyblue.org:

$71,500 to Democrats
$0 to Republicans
$0 to Others
$71,500 in Total Contributions

http://www.buyblue.org/search/node/google

The problem isn't Google, the problem is that searches been saturated with right-wing propaganda. I'm been talking about this for a long time, but nobody seems to care. Sorry, but it is true. I've tried to initiate a plan on how to attack the search engine RW propaganda with a little of our own and I get few if any replies.

We desperately need to take on certain themes like "flip-flop" and turn it on the republicans and the other day I posted in here and in DU about this asking for help and didn't get one reply in either place.

I posted previously asking people to commit to 100 posts on 100 different sites and only got one or two people willing to do anything.

We can talk policy in here until we are blue in the face (no pun) and we are probably convincing very few people of very little. The sad fact is that the next elections will be decided on pulp rather than policy and the RW has the market cornered on pulp. We need to saturate the searches with posts and with sites of our own. Everybody can get a free home page. In fact, having several is a good idea. And it only costs a few dollars to set up a domain name. Web pages sit there forever and get into searches based on KEYWORDS, CONTENT and LINKS.

If you think it is just Google, try searching Blogger.com for John Kerry. These blogs are free and the people who put up these "blogs" are just cranking out BS like there is no tomorrow. (BAD choice of words...because that might be where things are heading.) It wouldn't cost a DIME for everyone who posts here to also put up a blog. Linking to other pro-Kerry sites is important too. I'm always on the lookout for new sites to link to.

Sorry for the rant but this is crucial. The majority of people who use the Internet are not interested in politics and will not come to DU or any other political site. This kind of place is too overwhelming for the politically uninitiated. These people will vote in upcoming elections, however. And they will be influenced by what they see in the searches. If they see all this RW crap...what are they going to believe about Senator Kerry and liberals in general?
