Damnit!!

Pundits like Andrew Sullivan are calling Democrats "cowards". I can't think of a rebuttal. That's pretty sad.

As much as the blame is WAY more on the Republicans, sorry -- the Democrats f***ed this up big time. I said at the beginning that you DON'T rely on McCain to do the right thing. That the Democrats should have gotten involved. But Reid and Schumer et al were too worried about their red state Dems to defend and uphold the Constitution. So they stayed silent, and ALL the Democrats went along with them, including Kerry who remained mum on Hardball, when he should have spoken up against THE BILL AT HAND.

My anger two weeks ago was warranted. I smelled capitulation in the air, and now we're stuck with the worst law since the Alien and Seditions Act.

I am assuming that Kerry was opposed to this wimpy, pathetic "plan" to lose, but was overruled.
