I've noticed, in my short time here at DU, how people in the Lounge tend to occasionally make disparaging remarks (seemingly in jest, but also somewhat serious) about the GD forum or even worse, GD Politics. It's amusing to me how, even in cyberspace, people feel compelled to mark out their little territories. They want the distinctions made very clear, apparently. And I am truly amazed at just how many distinctions there are! I guess that's a good thing, as long as everybody stays happy. Ah, there's the rub....

Maybe this is all par for the course in a place like this. I haven't done much of this sort of thing before..ie, post on message boards, so it's all new to me. It's cool, though. Democracy, in action.
Hey, btw, why is it that people tend to explain their editing changes? Please excuse my lame-nitude, but does it really matter if someone misspelled a word and went back to change it? In other words, what would happen if I went back and made a change and DIDN"T say exactly what I had done? Would the sky unravel? Is this just DU protocol? You seem to know the inner workings of this place pretty well, so thought I'd ask....
Thanks, again, for your good energy towards a newbie, my dear!
