Step 1: Close all open programs then start the Windows Registry Editor by clicking Start, Run, and typing "regedit" followed by hitting the enter key.
Step 2: Locate the registry class number {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class directory and single click it.
Step 3: The right pane will become active with settings for the system’s optical drives. Any given system may contain one or both filter drivers, so don’t be concerned if one of the two is missing. Right click UpperFilters and rename it to UpperFilters_old. Rename LowerFilters to LowerFilters_old. Close the registry editor.
Step 4: Reboot and give it a try. The renamed registry keys will be recreated on startup and hopefully correct the problem.
