Either my sister or I make these every Christmas, and it's a standard recipe but a good 'un.


2 1/2 cups vanilla wafers, finely crushed
1 cup confectioners sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
3 tbsp. corn syrup
1/4 cup bourbon

Mix together first four ingredients. Add syrup and bourbon. Mix well. Shape into 1" balls and roll in confectioner's sugar. Put in an air-tight container and cure for at least 24 hours. Makes about 30 balls.

I prefer to roll these in a little dutch cocoa before the confectioner's sugar, but it's a matter of taste.
