3. It's a nasty little bug but it does respond to antibiotics
although resistance is increasing. I used to see it as an opportunistic infection in people who were maintained on mechanical ventilation and in surgical wounds. It has a characteristic color and odor that no one who has seen it will ever forget.

I'm guessing hers spread to her blood, not a nice place to grow bugs.
