53. Smith has a couple of shielded-hammer, short-barrel revolvers
Any of which I'd love to have. Simple, small enough for carry, reliable. There's a couple of .38+Ps I've got my eye on both for carry and home protection. If I still lived in the city, that's what I'd go for next. Since I live out in the sticks, break-ins are almost out of the question. But we do have big critters. I'm pretty darn accurate with either a pistol or a rifle, but if I'm down in the bottomland and Something Nasty runs up on me, having a pistol handy in my pocket (hence the desire for shielded hammer) gives me an edge. My .380 isn't quite the answer (large size, PITA to carry, but very reliable and accurate).

Sigh. Now I want to go shopping.
