I gave up on this whole thing. After checking in after the holidays, I witnessed a giant thread with all the usual antagonists mocking and tearing into Dan Choi's "mental illness" as the cause behind his criticism of the administration.

I'm sorry, but a website where that goes on with impunity, where that hatred isn't just tolerated, but celebrated day in, day out in the name of the administration just isn't the kind of place where LGBTers are going to get a friendly shake.

This place continues to be hostile to the LGBT community. I still cannot wrap my mind around the way so many administration defenders went after Choi. It took the wind right out of my sails as far as arguing on DU for greater tolerance and understanding of the LGBT community.

People with that kind of hate in their hearts aren't worth the pixels. They don't get it, they don't want to get it, and if you criticize the administration, they will adopt the same kind of right-wing hatred and antipathy towards the LGBT community merely because it suits their political purposes.

There's a word for that kind of person. Not a very nice one.
