I don't think that the use of the term
flat earther is meant to directly point up discrepancies in a literal translation of the bible. The fact that the biblical documents are historically inconsistent and contradictory is easily demonstrated.
Rather, I think that the term "flat earther" is a reference to the practice of promoting a belief system that cannot be supported by logic, documentary evidence, physical evidence, or any other kind of evidence beyond a ritualized set of beliefs.
