I don't think there is anything in Marx's writings about rounding up people to be shot either.

But so what? All of your examples are what we generically call communism. That goes to my original point. No one advocating skeptical atheism is in favor of a totalitarian state, which, as I said, has more in common with theocracy than anything else. Your argument is disengenuous because it is an effort to change the subject. AT BEST all you can claim is that the horrors of religious dogma are no worse than that of Stalin etc. You're not exactly making a case for your side so much as saying, "You guys are just as bad." And this thread is not a discussion of Communism, but of atheism as simply a lack of belief by an individual.

Even if I'm wrong about Confucianism, what does that have to do with "organized atheism?" I'm frankly unaware of a significant organized atheist movement. Perhaps you can point me to their headquarters.
