3. Probably because if you're right there will be a huge disconnect
in those who do believe. It's frightening for some people to think of the possibility that you are correct, and those people who have based their entire lives on belief and faith suddenly have nothing to stand on. If everything they have been taught is suddenly untrue then the only thing left to do for many people is to fight back, debate and somehow prove you wrong.
