how can anyone take these people seriously?

Everyone should start confessing their pollution sins, that's the only way to avoid eternal damnation. You have to be absolved from the mortal sin or yer fucked.

Forgive me father, I threw out a plastic bag, smoked a couple of cigarettes, let my car idle a little long in the yard, emitted fumes all the way here, just to tell you about the plastic bag.
