I mist up every time I even think about it. It's shot magnificently:the overcast exteriors are counterpointed w/the most wonderful pastel costumes. The plot is a bittersweet love story set against the war in Algeria. And it's a musical, but it's not(no spoilers here). And Catherine Deneuve is stunningly beautiful. She may be the most beautiful woman in a film ever. IMO.
