I'm intrigued by this IVCS idea, but I'm curious why it's necessary to patent it.

Using social networking raises a few other concerns:

1. Is there a lack of privacy? This may be necessary to form voting blocs, but some might avoid it for that reason.
2. How do you attract non-members to candidates favored by members? Won't this still take money, which is the root of the corruption of the current political class?

I'm too tired to think of more and I don't want to dampen anyone's enthusiasm. :)
This could be a great idea.

Still need to fix the black-box e-vote counting problem though!
