probably just as scary to politicians.

What is it with lawmakers that they so resist paper ballots?

Even in NC, it took us from the 3 month long committee that wrote our bill, then
the beginning of legislative session in Feb, all the way to August, the very last
fracking day of session (Saturday too) to get our bill passed.

The bill got scalped 31 times while in one committee, with even the requirement for
paper ballot removed. That was when the calls came in, some activists screaming at lawmakers.
