 Voting machines By Susan Montgomery, City Editor 06/28/2006 Leflore County election commissioners want their own technician to service the new touch-screen voting machines. They asked as much Monday in a formal written request to the Leflore Board of Supervisors. The board is considering the request. The board tabled a decision on the proposal Monday, planning to take up the issue in July. Diebold Election Systems, as part of its contract, will offer assistance to the county for five years. But the county's difficulties during the June 6 primary were due to improper programming by a Diebold technician.
