Ex-girlfriend says legislator let her use money

The former live-in girlfriend accused of stealing money from state Rep. Scott Suder and breaking into his Abbotsford home says the lawmaker had given her permission for months to use his checks and a bank card.

Lisa Brabazon, 32, of Wausau told the Wausau Daily Herald in a phone interview this morning that she was surprised when Suder kicked her out of his home in September and then accused her of theft. The Republican legislator made the accusation when he obtained a restraining order against Brabazon this week.

"Scott Suder had been giving me permission to write out those checks," she said in response to a news report in today's edition of the Daily Herald. "Those checks have been written out for over a year."
