Confronting Militarism in the Americas
The Truth behind the School of the Americas and U.S Foreign Policy
Fr. Roy Bourgeois
Thursday, March 10th, 2011
7 P.M.

Wallingford United Methodist Church
2115 N 42nd St. Seattle. From I-5, take Exit 169 and go West on NE 45th St. approx. 9 blocks, then left (south) on Bagley Ave N to N 42nd St

Fr. Roy Bourgeois is founder of School of the Americas Watch (SOAW), which works to close the School of the Americas, and actively challenges U.S. militarism in Latin America. In the past year Fr Roy and the SOAW movement protested at the gates of a U.S. military base in Colombia, met in Venezuela with activists from 19 Latin American countries to strategize a response to militarism and to build a culture of peace, and participated in the Social Forum of the Americas in Paraguay (and more). Come and learn about what’s planned for Washington DC in April and how YOU CAN BE INVOLVED!

Sponsors: School of the Americas Watch, Puget Sound; St. Patrick Social Justice Committee; Wallingford United Methodist Church, Western Washington Fellowship of Reconciliation; Military Families Speak Out; Witness for Peace Pacific Northwest
