Empty Bowls 2011 Join Us for a Meal and Help Fight Hunger in Our Community!
Friday, January 28 Lunch served 11:00 AM-2:00pm, Dinner served 4:00-8:00pm New Location! Burien Community Center, 14700 6th Ave SW $15 (minimum) Donation adults, $10 for children Proceeds to benefit Highline Food Bank & White Center Food Bank
Moshier Community Art Center potters have teamed up with Discover Burien to bring you Empty Bowls 2011. Empty Bowls events can be found around the country raising money to combat hunger in our communities. Potters have donated bowls to be filled with soup at this fun event...all are invited!
Your donation will get you the opportunity to pick out a beautiful handmade bowl, as well as a simple but wonderful meal of soup, bread, dessert and drink; all donated by local businesses. In 2010 over $13,000 was raised with 100% going to fight hunger!
This year’s event will be held at the wonderful new Burien Community Center (the old library). This newly remodeled space will give this growing event plenty of space! Also new this year will be our Tree of Bowls Soup Trophy! Our fabulous kitchen managers will award this fun trophy to the “best ” soup and this trophy will find a home in an area restaurant for a year. Of course this is just for fun…since all the soups are fabulous!!
We will continue this year with the popular lunch express line for those in a hurry. And if you want to come but have too many bowls at home just bring your own! We look forward to seeing you!
