Aubrey, Texas—State Representative Mary Denny (R-Denton County) has announced she will complete her current term of office but will not seek reelection. Denny is currently serving her seventh term and serves as Chairman of the Texas House Elections Committee and as a member of the Texas House Committees on Criminal Jurisprudence and House Administration. Denny, elected in 1992, is the most tenured legislator of Denton County’s three State Representatives.

Denny cited concern for her husband’s health and her need to spend more time with him. "Simply stated, the time has come for me to devote time to my family life," said Denny.
