My old high school friend whom is my boss (it's just he and I that work together in construction)
have daily political debates. Hopefully I am slowly enlightening him. His normal stance is that "everything is just fine" and "had we not taken the stance that we have (militarily in Iraq) we would be speaking Arabic right now" He doesn't believe in global warming. He takes the typical "I'm so sick of the welfare system suckers" and believes in the trickle down economic theory. Stated to me once that he likes keeping employees just on virge of the needed pay scale so they have to show up, i.e. keep them in need. He takes pretty good care of me though, just the two of us now so I personally can't complain & we are old freinds. I told him that is typical "Cheap labor conservative idealogy" I am continually having to rebut his stances on the issues. He knows I'm a MIHOP guy so he knows how deep my beliefs are. He doesn't see a problem with the spying. Fortunately I am able to e-mail him the latest Democratic updates on the issues and he enjoys the debate, thinks of it as "entertainment"
Lately though, it's been tough because I've been to pissed off about the issues that I can't even debate them with him. Sometimes I have to cut it off because I know he and I will never agree and it's almost a waste of energy.

When you think about the demography here it is no surprise though how many are really voting with their wallet (Chesapeake Oil, Oil & Gas industry, the Medical industry, Tinker AFB & Defense) rather than their conscience. Throw in the hardcore fundamentalists and the rednecks and it is easy to see why this is a red state. So many are just apathetic and follow the crowd as well.


Also seems as so many think they are FBI, CIA typical.... maybe because they are! LOL

Okla. is reaping in the benefits and the economy here is strong
