1. Unfortunely, the bad guys control the messanger: The Media
As long as that's the case, every election will be an uphill battle for Democrats. The good news is that although Dicky has more money than Gawd, he isn't getting that much traction. Most people, when they actually think, will realize that the economic woes in this state are threefold:

1. The problems with the auto industry have been years in the making. The fact that health care costs cause the atomakers to have a complete disadvantage against those from countries that provide some sort of national health coverage is a major problem. And hey, when I see these mounster SUV's at the autho show that get 10 mpg., I scractch my bald noggin and go "What in the hell are they thinking?" Good grief.

2. The idea that an area can be a "one horse town" worked well decades ago...not anymore. Look at any city--Chicago being a good example. They are always building something, doing great culture, whatever. We have great things here too, but when everything relies on the fortunes of cars, that sucks. A lack of a quality mass transit system doesn't help either.

3. The policies under a modern Republican party, led by Jr. and his band of Neocon thugs, has really hurt us here. We all know this, and we need to keep reminding others of that fact.

I attended a forum for all our Dem candidates in Farmington/Farmington Hills. That included Nancy, Gilda Jacobs, Aldo, and Corey, a guy running for OC Commission. This was one strong group, who new their stuff. We can win and maybe conquer the media mountain, if we just do our thing to help, and keep the faith.
