Dow Jones Industrial Average - predicting Kerry win?

Jeremy Siegel and others have done a lot of research on the performance of stocks under Republicans, Democrats, and during election cycles. One thing these guys have studied is how the stock market typically behaves if an incumbent is going to win or lose. Correlation, of course, is not causation, and ultimately this "indicator" might prove as valuable as the Super Bowl indicator is to the direction of the stock market. Nevertheless, I thought some here might enjoy this chart, which shows Bush is spot-on for a loss this year.

So much for all that "investor class" bullshit.
