54. Unfortunately likabilty
does count a lot with the average person (not with political junkies like us). The likability factor is why we were stuck with Reagan and why Californians are currently stuck with the Arnold.

I don't have any problem liking Kerry but I have heard a few people that I know to be Democrats say things along these lines. My question is--assuming that the worst is true-and that some people have trouble opening their hearts to Kerry--what can we do about it? And have we ever had this type of problem before? Have voters complained about the likability of any other candidates in the past? If so, how did they get past the likability factor? It is hard for me to imagine voters liking Nixon for example.
