| 27. Persuade moderates, Give conservatives the choice of mutual support or not |
|
By which I mean if they support the goals of the democratic majority, then the democratic party will support them. And if they do not, we will not.
Hell, we were in a political power minority, ignored, ridiculed, etc, and that was before any purging. Even with our technical majority and no purging, we are still by and large ignored. And it sure looks to me like we are going back the the minority because of the 6-7 Democrats you mention, so what do we really have to lose?
Personally, I am in favor of a few things. We don't need to purge anyone, if our politicians just had the balls to bring back the "nuclear option". Secondly, I would be much more in favor of reworking our system to allow for more parties. Other countries can do it, so we know its possible. The system we have seems to me to be rather under-responsive to the populace, and we are capable of doing far better with the resources at our disposal. And it would make "purging" unnecessary. But neither seems likely. And neither does any official purging. That would require spine, which is severely lacking in all but a few.
