19. What side are you on, boys? What side are you on?

Forgive a little union rousing, but your initial statements sort of chilled your piece for me. If you are complaining about the "left", then just which side are you on? To quote Mayor Shinn "You mind your phraseology."

Good stuff about working for the long haul. Kinda weak on assuming that everyone who wants to fuss about some of the decisions coming from some prominent Democrats is a keyboard warrior. I've done all the stuff on your list except 11 (thinking about it though) I've been doing all that stuff for forty years. And yes. I'm a leftie. I want more than what we are going to get. I didn't expect that our new administration or our "new" congress were going to be as progressive as I would like. That doesn't mean that I can't exhort them to do what I consider to be better.

It is a long battle. But when you work the front lines, it's hard to tell the foot soldier that the victory they are sacrificing for is just not politically expedient right now. And forty years at this tells me that if some of those changes don't come sooner than later, we will be back in the position we just left.

As for pointing the finger at one man. He's the one who said it was on him. He's the one who fought hard to be the one where the finger points. He's not shy, and he's not delicate. He asked for (no, he battered his way into) the job. he can take the heat. He needs the heat when he starts going wrong. He needs the heat to know where the home fires are.
