of ones typed by his secretary (Knox) that he must have typed himself (Killian) in case the originals were (as he expected them to be?) scrubbed.

Knox said she didn't type them (she knew the difference in them from the originals). But the info was the same as ones she had typed.

now, who had the backups, since Killian has passed away? Did he entrust them to someone?

there lies the source, imo.
