30. If I were Mudd, and had no tires to torture, I'd appreciate a defense against the GOP witchhunt.
Because otherwise the perception stands that I stepped down because my record wouldn't stand up to Repuke scrutiny. And as I said, that means it wouldn't stand up to Democratic scrutiny either. So that takes me back to the question of why Obama nominated him in the first place. And THAT'S what really concerns me. Hypocritical Repug posturing is just an expected congressional sideshow. But every once in awhile it provides an opening to what I happen to consider a very valid question, which is why Obama would nominate this guy.

Your attempts to obfuscate this question by continually making it be about my opinion of Obama, are both telling and typical.

If Bush were still in office and nominated this guy and Democrats (also complicit in BushCo torture, as complicit as Repugs are) hypocritically threatened to investigate him for his ties to torture, would that also be a problem for you? Or is it only because it's our current dear leader who nominated Mudd and a Repug who is threatening Mudd, and dear leader must not be questioned?

Please note that the above was a rhetorical question only, I already know the answer.
