You've got it completely wrong. The Republicans were pushing some nonsense on Pelosi but nothing they have said is in any way contradictory to anything Pelosi has not admitted publicly and this is dating back to the first press conference she had. She even stated in by the third press conference, everything the Republicans claimed they got from the CIA was in line with what she said. Which is true.
Now I have to ask what Obama appointing an independent prosecutor has to do with Nancy Pelosi. From the moment Senator Leahy and a few other Dem Senators were calling for an independent council it was Nancy Pelosi who stated very clearly that she doesn't want immunity to be on the table because she believes criminal prosecutions could be the final move. So from the beginning the Democrats had control of this and so far they haven't lost it. Why? Because former Senator Bob Graham has publicly stated that he went to those same meetings with Pelosi and he was never briefed that tortured methods were in use. Already that puts the Repubs as liars and currently even the CIA are backtracking in their statements because Bob Graham is known for taking meticulous notes on everything he does. Not to mention the information the Republicans, again, brought as evidence was found to be in line with Pelosi.
So what are you talking about that the Dems seemed complicit to the things going on. On the contrary it looks like Congress was misled by the former administration and the Dems are looking even better and it all looks like a really bad smear campaign.
They are even getting the words of Boehnor who says now that the CIA has never misled him and he was never led to believe they were liars but they have him on tape saying 2 years ago that he found that the CIA likes to release misleading information in acts of smearing. This is on tape and this is coming out bit by bit...even more damaging the Republican party.
Further more in regards to this special prosecutor...it is not Obama's position to call a special prosecutor considering he left that ball in his AG's court (excuse the pun). His AG is currently reviewing all the evidence and testimony and what was illegal or legal in order to make an educated judgement call on what to do next. He will not jump the gun with everything is under review and that's what I bloody love about my President.
He's sincere and thoughtful not to turn into an overrun blob of emotions and call people out without careful review and reasoning. He said this before and I don't see why he needs to rush on this considering we need all our wits about us when we move forward.
All in all, I'm lost to much of your claims.
