13. The Salute to Heroes ball
is different than the Commander in Chief's ball. It has a completely different focus. It's a ball to salute those very, very few who survived the act that earned them the nation's highest military honor. This has been a tradition that every president has taken part in for over 50 years. Every president except Obama. With every single minute of his day scripted to the last minute, any thinking person would have to wonder why he chose not to attend.

I DON'T AGREE that he wanted to snub the military. I DO wish that he would have made a different choice in his schedule. It would have been such a small thing for him to do, and these few men who offered up their lives for their country in the face of seemingly certain death deserved better. To say otherwise is to pull political shades over your eyes. That's what we accuse the right wingers of. Let's not do the same thing ourselves.
