8. The people who will vote
against Bush because of Kitty Kelly's book (and there is a segment of the population who may) will not care if a cable news story slams the book, or not. In fact, they will not care if it is true or not. They are as influenced by "The Young and The Restless" as they are by "60 Minutes."

I'd think people might want to question why Matt L. said he hasn't played golf with George H W Bush, when there is a photo of him doing so. Better to discredit him, perhaps, than to support the book as a serious work. Stir the pot, so to speak.
