They have posted here and have sent me private communications. Yes, believe it or not, I do know some gays on DU and many are not happy with the direction the board is taking. I know, I know, to say I am friends with can be perceived as patronizing but that is not my intention.

The majority of DUers support the GLBT community in every way possible, they just can't seem to make them happy on DU. It is unclear what they want. They can bash Obama all they like but that does not mean they are free from criticism and that their bashing will go unchallenged. It is a message board, if they want to post a message bashing Obama or another dem or a dem principle that goes without challenge then they should post it where others who do not share their views will read it.

There are many who have posted in this thread that have provided me with useful links that give me more avenues to pursue. They have told me what they are doing and have suggested things for me to do. While I appreciate all the links, the purpose of this thread is not to shut up the GLBT members, is not to try to make them stop speaking out, it was an effort to try to find someone to propose some action that all of DU can get behind as we have done in the past.

You post of issues beyond the purpose of this thread and others have read into it beyond its purpose.

I apparently have used words that some understand and others take offense to. Again, that is DU.

I've never claimed perfection and if you don't agree with my efforts that is okay too. What you read on DU is not all that I am and if there are those who post here think that DU defines them, then that is very sad indeed.
