Gregory House is the fictional star of the television drama "House." The character, which is based on Arthur Conan Doyle's original model for Sherlock Holmes, is a brilliant but antisocial, arrogant, and drug-addicted diagnostician who instills equal parts respect and loathing among those who work with him. I find the show consistently clever and engaging.
