Plus, why in the world would you want this? We have energy and environmental concerns that aren't a good fit with burning oil like crazy. This is some irrational horse sense. Why allow the Axis powers to unite to save some money? I call that shortsighted.

Yeah, its way better we pay for this and use this as the opportunity to lay down the foundation for America's new energy infrastructure. Getting the cars right has long been a major hold up and this is the golden ticket. We got them by the scruff here and amazingly liberals are crying.
This is a clear cut lemonaide situation, that we should be more than happy to help with. Let's open the books up and see what is needed to float them while we meld this with a greater vision and can intelligently present our demands.
