You know, I've held off on commenting on this past week's conservative media mantra: that the United States is a center-right nation. I think it's true, and others back me up. Barack Obama is the closest thing to a centrist that we're likely to get until things change in the United States. But much more importantly he's his own man with his own unique perspective on how things need to be run. He has the potential to be the best Republican President since Bill Clinton. But there is no way in Hell he's ever going to be the darling of a true progressive movement. That's okay in my book; things are so fucked up now I doubt it will matter much. |
