This morning a pundit on MSNBC pointed out that President Clinton refused a 3rd debate in 1996. His point was that incumbents who lead in the polls would tend to avoid debates.
I'm afraid the Whiny Right may use this...I'm not sure of the circumstances between 1996 and this situation.
