heart.. there has been some discussion about what was probably my transference of my own pain at watching this, to Obama. So, I apologize if I seemed to be projecting feelings onto Obama that were probably mine. Did McCain's "diss" hurt him?

I have no idea. But as you just said, Indy Op, I do think he must at least "feel the punches at a deep, deep level." I thank you for those words, for that further explanation. I'm still struggling with my own shame, as you are. And I'm proud we have a hero who will stand up and take the punches, and not complain.
