| 47. I haven't stopped talking to her, but we can NOT discuss politics. |
|
A woman in my office, who I get along with famously otherwise, is a staunch Republican. I can't even go there with her. I've been at this place 2 1/2 years, and politics is off the table. There is no changing her mind, and she is very vocal about it. Her sister, another good friend of mine, is not quite so vocal, but when something Bush does is stupid, she and her husband get really quiet. It's so awkward! I just want to spew how I feel about the right, and I can't! Well, I can, but it would just be really ugly and ruin otherwise supportive and trusting friendships. I can't afford that. So we silently agree to disagree.
