We are going to have to fight like crazy to get Obama elected. The overt racists may be coming out of the closet, but what they are really doing is allowing the COVERT racists to vote based on their fears.

And the borderline racists will be the deciding factor.

Maybe it's just because I'm black. But I know that racism lurks in the hearts of over 50% of the white people in America. And frankly, it lurks in the hearts of way too many Hispanics! And Asians.

We will be fighting against an insidious American demon that has never been vanquished. Marginalized, but not vanquished.

The very white people who say that they are "color-blind" will probably be the ones smug enough to think we'll have a landslide. And sit back in their ignorance and cost us the election.

I don't think there is a single African-American in the entire country who thinks that this will be easy.

Please take the blinders off.

Part of why Obama got this far was because he never forgot that he was the underdog, dark-horse candidate. He still is. And at least HE has not forgotten it.

Any white person who sits back and assumes that we've got it in the bag has probably just cost us 100 votes. Because unless white Americans are in the forefront of this campaign, wearing buttons and shirts, sporting bumperstickers on their cars, knocking on doors... AND TALKING TO EVERYONE THEY KNOW WHO IS ON THE FENCE, we're not going to win.

In fact, we'll get slaughtered.
