Forgive, Don't Forget

One of the themes that emerged at my mom's funeral yesterday was forgiveness. As a Hillary supporter who has now seen even William Pitt trash Hillary, I thought of that very word. Obama will be nominated, that seems clear. I will support him. Any rational human must.

Between now and November, my forgiveness will be carried into action by my support and my vote.

But then I am not prepared to forget, because I am not a fool. Certain (Many? Most? Almost all?) Obama supporters acted contrary to the interest of our party and even common decency. That was their choice, even as they watched what it did to our party - and their former friends like me. Obama's campaign was right in the middle of all this.

My choice then will be:
-never to watch Keith-O again, as he reached beneath Bill-o status
-not to read Will Pitt, or buy his books, altho I have for years
-to put Donna Brazile and her ilk into my "Zell Miller/Joe Lieberman" file - and to remember when next they seek my support
-never again to read Buzz-Flash, which went from reliable website to unreadable
-to have little future use for the opinions of many on DU - a site I have supported with articles and finances since its founding - but I will be here, because at least it is not QUITE as bad as Kos or Eschaton during what should have been a joyful time.

BTW, youngsters, I worked for Bobby and John Kennedy - and Obama is no.... well, I forgive. But please don't ask me to forget.
