A research grant or any funding because they forgave her bill would put the debt on the American taxpayers.

Obama doesn't owe her anything. She loaned the money (half) to fulfill her own dream. He shouldn't have to pay off her debt just because he was more successful and managed his money more carefully. In fact, I think it goes against the rules.

Fair is fair.
