116. It is a horrible thread. The double standard is a two way street.
We are looking from two different ends of the looking glass. I like to view these sorts of things in terms of intersectionality. Double standards exist, but they can compound, especially whenever two "subjugated" identities exist within one person. There are double standards that black men have to deal with-separate from those that white woman have to deal with. But imagine a black woman who must handle them both.

I never understood why one group insists on claiming the double standard doesn't exist for woman or people of color, just because of the double standards they have to face personally. That poster seems to be implying that they are entitled to those benefits and no one else for that reason.

As a white male I try hard not to fall into the trap of perpetuating them. Can't say I'm perfect. Just ask my wife. :)
