Indiana and Ill suspended state gas tax of 7 cents, gas prices fell about 4 cents a gallon in the summer of 2000. Average savings was 2.50 per month.
When Florida suspended state taxes in 2004 people horded gasoline driving the price of gas UP so it cost MORE when the taxes were cut. Oh, and we'd lose billions in road repair money making stuff like this happen:  |
