36. Oooh, anecdotes!

Here's mine.

The lowest I got under shrub, I paid for my internet, my water, and my electricity. I was down to moving a lightbulb around the house for when I needed it. I got three months behind on rent. I had no heat (Gas was shut off), and was living on ramen.

Wanna know what I wasn't doing?

DRIVING.

I couldn't afford to. I had to let the insurance lapse, I just couldn't afford it anymore, gas was too freaking expensive to waste.

She might has well have offered to reduce my annual HBO bill by 30 bucks, for all the good it would do for the job-seeking poor.
