specific voting groups in significant percentages to Senator Obama, such as independents and grassroots progressives, why does her campaign not focus more on these groups to win a larger percentage of their support, thus depriving her opponent of his obvious edge in those groups?

One possibility for this demur withdrawal is that she does not want the support with those group and does not wish alignment with their core issues, because an HClinton administration does not plan to address those issues in a meaningful way.

That's not a personal slam on Hillary Clinton but one progressive's view of why Obama, and not Clinton, is the far more attractive candidate -- the suspicion that she is not a grassroots-up candidate but a corporation-down candidate.
