220. George S. is teaching a great lesson, let's absorb it
George Stephanopoulis was a fresh faced young kid when he was
the media rep. for a candidate named Bill Clinton and was later
to be his press secretary. He fought back against the Republican
attack machine and earned his stripes in the scuffles and lobbing
of attacks and counterattacks.

It is natural once you end up on the winning side, which he did,
that you begin to think that you are always right, and your side
is always correct because it won.

Barack Obama is not locked into the dogma of always being correct
or battling you to the death to prove he was when he wasn't.
He has said time and time again that he intends to do his best
with the issues the American people give him to pursue and the
issues he has to pursue for the American people, like a strong
national defense, the institution of all out diplomacy and
fact finding before all out war.

It is up to us to help to break the cycle of refusing to talk
and compromise and heal to prolong a stalemate or skirmish that
we have become attached to from experience or it's longevity.

We are going to have to put our words and actions where our
hopes and aspirations with our candidate and ourselves exist.
We are going to have to allow dialogue, and compromise, and
progress to take place.

If we are the people we have been waiting for, we are going to
have to act like them. Let's not blow the opportunity of Barack
Obama by staying in the behaviors that have failed our country,
even if we know them well and they are comfortable to us.

We are going to have to lead, each of us in our own little spheres
of influence, and it is going to be hard, the old ways run deep,
even if they simply do not work, as we have seen with our own eyes.
