just to keep food in their kids' mouth.

They don't want to be here. They miss and worry about their wives and children.

This is awful, all the way around.

Some of them want to immigrate here like my mother did but the majority miss their homes, their farms, their communities.

I've listened to many of their stories. Maybe that's why when people here lash out at them, I have such a big reaction.

These people were driven out of their homes by US policy. And we paid for it. That's just wrong and something we need to attend to -- over Lou Dobbs or over any hysterical call in the media about being "invaded".

The people I've talked to and listened to are not "invaders". And most of them would rather go home and work and raise their kids.
